A friend of mine has a pecan tree. I bought 5 pounds of pecans from her. The girls and I had fun with the pliers opening the nuts to get the meat out. I'm planning to make a pecan pie for David and maybe try to roast the nuts a little. I've gotta tell ya, cracking nuts is hard and messy work! We had shell pieces flying everywhere!
